Inspired by utilitarian origins and the rock and roll legends, Neuw denim is a must-have for any wardrobe.

Australia’s unique sense of style can be summed up in three words: understated, chic, and urban. Which, incidentally, is also the best way to describe Sydney-based denim label, Neuw.
Neuw founders Par Lundqvist, Richard Bell and Stephen Little launched the label after noticing a gap in the fashion market “for a modern denim brand that had an edge which would better suit the counter culture rebels of the 1950′s living today.”
Taking inspiration from “traditional” denim cuts and denim’s hey day in the era of punk rock, they set out to design a range of jeans for men and women that had all the hard-wearing capabilities of denim’s utilitarian past but interpreted in modern ways.
And with a personal denim library of over 3000 pieces of vintage denim, including one pair dating as far back as 1895. Using these as a reference point, Lundqvist clearly has a rich history to pull from.
Combining traditional detailing and aesthetics with state-of-the-art crafting methods (and the odd collaboration with denim-masters such as Hiro Yoshikawa), Lundqvist and the team have developed a range of denim that answers to any occasion.
One of Neuw’s strongest features is their diverse range of fits, which range from the must-have skinny all the way up to relaxed, low-slung. In a nice touch, each cut’s name is taken from an iconic figure of the punk and rock music scene.
Raw, rugged, washed or overdyed – Neuw is a denim-lovers haven and a definite stop-off of your itinerary while staying in Sydney.
